This international upbringing, coupled with her exposure to different languages and traditions, ignited her passion for knowledge, science, and the arts. By the age of 9, she was already delving into complex theories. showcasing her intellectual curiosity and love for philosophical discussions.

Areej’s academic journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. As a 15-year-old, she has already made remarkable strides in research, publishing over 10 papers, including in prestigious journals like Advanced Materials. Her work in the fields of environmental engineering and carbon capture technologies has garnered international recognition, winning her over 35 global awards, including a Grand Award at Regeneron ISEF 2024. Areej has conducted groundbreaking research at leading institutions such as Harvard, KAUST, MIT, and the World Bank, making her one of the most promising young minds of her generation. Her work at MIT’s CEE lab and her innovative silicon dioxide nanostructured anti-soiling coating for solar cells are just a few examples of her contributions to advancing science and technology.
